Cool Computer Cases – Light, Medium And Hard Modifications

Gamers and computer enthusiasts all over the world are known for their gaming rigs. Within them is some of the best hardware available on the market, pumping information out faster than your average computer to large monitors and through a quality sound system. This is only half of what makes their computers special as we turn our attention to the computer case. There are dozens of different ways you can make your computer case stand out, from a full overhaul of the design to minor modifications. Ultimately, it’s down to personal tastes, as what might look cool to you might look rubbish to another person of different tastes. Here are some tips on making cool computer cases.

Minor Modification

There are some parts of your typical computer case that can be adjusted or swapped out that can make a massive difference to what it looks. One example is a plexi-glass, or any similar, transparent material, side panel, allowing you to see your computer’s innards. This works great in conjunction with lighted cooling systems. Whether it’s your fans, your liquid cooling or just randomly placed LEDs, you can light up your computer to create awesome shadows and beautiful colors, bedazzling anyone who looks at it.

This is one of the most common and easiest ways to modify your computer case. Some come ready made with transparent side panels and LEDs, but there’s nothing like bit of personal customization. Furthermore, you can save some money by doing your own work. This level of modification is the cheapest by far, but offers only a low-level of cool looking effects.

Moderate Modification

In combination with previously mentioned modifications or used on its own, this is a further level of customization that is simple, but requires a little more care. Spray-painting your case can add a little more colors, especially if you’re using lights or a window side panel. You could even spray paint on contrasting colors in specific designs, either to show off your artistic side or just for the aesthetically pleasing aspect. If included with the previous types of modification, this can start to grow expensive, but on it’s own, you can still spend very little in such customization.

Heavy Modification

Strictly for advanced users and sculptors, this involves using what is called body filler to create shapes and designs different to the original case shape. Using this, users can sculpt entirely new designs, either based on their favorite games or their own designs, whatever they wish. It’s a difficult process and requires not only experience, but planning first. Such case mods have been featured on blogs, news sites and computer-centric television programs. This is likely to lead to high expenses if done correctly, so have a budget ready.

Other modifications that require experience and good tools modifying the components themselves. This is strictly aesthetic again, but can lead to serious damage and even permanently break the components in question. As such, it should only be attempted by experts or purchased already modified, such as the Raptor class hard drives that have a window installed.
